Their Love Story
Some love stories begin with fireworks. Shaylee and Josh’s started quietly, with friendship.
The two first crossed paths back in 2011 at a mutual friend’s house gathering. Shaylee noticed Josh’s funny nature, his cute smile and those mesmerising eyes straight away, while Josh was convinced from the very beginning that Shaylee was completely out of his league.
For years they remained friends. The kind of friendship where you slowly become best mates before you even realise something deeper is forming.
Then in late 2016 something shifted.
Shaylee invited Josh along to her parents’ 25th wedding anniversary as her “friend date”… but nobody really believed that explanation. Their chemistry was obvious to everyone around them.
Not long after, during a quiet late-night movie on the couch after Shaylee finished work, she asked the question that changed everything.
“Should we make this official?”
Despite talking about taking things slow the day before, Josh knew instantly he didn’t want to risk losing her. So he flipped the script and asked her to be his girlfriend instead.
And just like that, on February 4th, 2017, their love story officially began.
Life moved quickly from there. They moved in together just a few months later, something Shaylee’s late pop famously responded to with:
“About bloody time.”
Soon after, they welcomed their son Carter into the world, followed in 2022 by their daughter Skylar Jane, turning their little duo into a beautiful family of four.

A Quote from the Vows
During the ceremony, Shaylee shared something that perfectly summed up their journey together:
“Today I don’t just get to marry the love of my life… I get to marry my best friend.”
Josh followed with vows that had everyone laughing, talking about how he had spent years clawing his way out of the “friend zone trenches” just to stand beside her today.
It was heartfelt, hilarious and completely them.

A little about the celebration
Shaylee and Josh’s wedding at Green Valley Barn was everything they wanted their day to be.
Relaxed.
Fun.
Rustic.
The morning began with Shaylee getting ready at the venue with her bridesmaids, while Josh and the boys spent the early part of the day together before heading to the venue to meet everyone before the ceremony.
From the moment guests arrived, the whole day had a laid-back energy that perfectly reflected Shaylee and Josh as a couple. There were plenty of laughs, heartfelt moments during the ceremony, and lots of big smiles from the people who mean the most to them.
Their kids Carter and Skylar were, of course, a huge part of the day, and you could feel just how much this little family means to both of them.
After nearly a decade together, this wedding felt less like the beginning of their story and more like the next chapter in a life they’ve already built side by side.
