Their Love Story
Some love stories begin with a dating app. Others begin at a bar. Lindsay and Frank’s began in a Pomona laundromat after the devastating floods, when the local community was coming together to help one another.
Frank received Lindsay’s number through Elise and reached out to offer a hand. At the time, neither of them could have known that a simple conversation about getting help would eventually lead to a wedding, a home, two much loved poodles and a life together in the Mary Valley.
Their first meeting certainly wasn't your typical romantic introduction either.
Frank arrived expecting to meet someone he'd only spoken to over the phone, while Lindsay had already heard his accent and apparently had some concerns about the possibility of a “weird German kinky guy”. 😂
Thankfully, things worked out.
Frank offered Lindsay his home when she needed somewhere to stay, and what started as helping someone from the local community quickly became something much more. They talked, laughed and spent hours getting to know each other.
As Frank put it in his vows:
“We talked and laughed. And over the next few days, everything between us was so easy, so right. And I fell in love with you.”
From there, they built a life together that eventually brought them to the beautiful Mary Valley, where their home became much more than just a place to live.
It became the place where they would get married.
For Lindsay, Frank became the person who made her realise she had finally found what she had been looking for all along.
“I realised home was never a place I was searching for. It was you.”
And honestly, if that doesn't sum up a home wedding, we don't know what does.

A little about the celebration
If we had to describe Lindsay and Frank's wedding in three words, we'd probably go with fun, laughter and happiness.
There was plenty of emotion too. Frank definitely wasn't afraid to shed a few tears as Lindsay walked down the aisle with her mum, and there were plenty of tissues nearby for anyone else who needed them.
But this wasn't a wedding that took itself too seriously.
There were plenty of laughs throughout the ceremony, from the story of their first meeting to Frank's confession that he once wasn't a fan of poodles.
Thankfully, Lindsay has since converted him.
The couple now have two poodle babies who were even given the important job of helping present their wedding rings. Digby and Lulu absolutely understood the assignment.
The ceremony itself was incredibly personal, with the couple sharing their own stories, memories and promises before exchanging rings and taking part in a beautiful Scottish handfasting ceremony to honour their Scottish roots.
Three knots were tied around their hands: one for Lindsay, one for Frank and one forever.
And then came the moment everyone had been waiting for.
Frank and Lindsay were officially pronounced husband and wife, followed by a long overdue kiss and the beginning of the celebrations.
Because this wasn't just a wedding.
It was a celebration of the life they'd already built together.
why I love this wedding venue for weddings
There is something incredibly special about getting married at your own home.
Rather than travelling to a venue you've only visited a handful of times, Lindsay and Frank were able to celebrate their wedding day in the place that already meant so much to them.
Their home in the Mary Valley, near Imbil, Queensland, provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxed, personal wedding surrounded by the people they love most.
And that's one of the biggest advantages of having a home wedding.
It already feels like you
There's no need to make a venue feel personal when you're getting married somewhere that is already part of your story.
Every corner of the property has memories attached to it. Every view is familiar. Every room belongs to you.
And years from now, you'll be able to look back at your wedding film and know that you didn't just get married at a beautiful venue.
You got married at home.
You can make the day completely your own
Home weddings give couples the freedom to create a celebration around how they actually want to spend their wedding day.
For Lindsay and Frank, that meant bringing together their family and friends, incorporating their Scottish heritage, including their dogs and creating a day that felt relaxed, genuine and completely them.
There was no need to fit their wedding into someone else's idea of what a wedding should look like.
The memories continue long after the wedding
This is perhaps the best part.
Their wedding wasn't happening at some random venue that they would leave behind at the end of the night.
It happened at their home.
The place where they will continue making coffee, having dinner, entertaining friends, loving their dogs and living their lives together.
Every time they walk through the property, they'll have another memory attached to it.
And that's pretty hard to beat.

Your wedding was genuinely one of those days where you could feel how much everyone around you loves you both.
There was emotion, there were plenty of laughs, there were poodles, there were tears, there was a Scottish handfasting and, most importantly, there was the two of you.
Your story is a reminder that sometimes the best things in life can begin in the most unexpected places.
Who would've thought that helping someone after a flood would eventually lead to standing together at home, surrounded by the people you love, promising to spend the rest of your lives together?
We absolutely loved capturing it.
And we hope whenever you watch your wedding film years from now, you don't just remember how your wedding looked.
