Their Love Story
Some love stories begin with a dramatic first meeting.
Maddy and Chris' began with a Facebook friend request from Maddy's phone... sent by their friend Rory at a party.
Honestly, matchmaking has come a long way.
The pair had crossed paths during their first year of physiotherapy at university, but it wasn't until Rory decided to intervene that things started moving. A strategic like on an old Instagram photo from Chris followed, messages were exchanged, and their first date was set at the drive-in movies.
And nearly 10 years later, they found themselves standing opposite each other at Yandina Station, finally saying "I do."
From those early days, it was clear there was something different about them.
Maddy fell for Chris' patience, generosity and incredible drive, while Chris was drawn to Maddy's energy, resilience, infectious laugh and ability to somehow remember every song lyric ever written.
Together, they became a team.
They travelled the world, moved their lives to the UK for 18 months, ran half marathons, explored new countries, drank plenty of coffee and spent countless ordinary mornings simply enjoying each other's company.
And perhaps that is what makes their story so good.
It isn't just about the big adventures. It's about finding someone who makes the everyday stuff feel like an adventure too.
Chris realised how much Maddy meant to him during their first overseas adventure through Cambodia and the Philippines. Maddy had her own moment of certainty during a quiet day in Mooloolaba on their second anniversary, sitting on the beach, swimming in the ocean and eating poke bowls.
Then came the proposal.
Originally planned for Christmas Eve in Austria, the weather had other ideas. So Plan B came into play on Christmas morning, with a pink sunrise, a tiny jetty, snow-capped mountains and Chris getting down on one knee.
Thankfully, Maddy said yes.
Otherwise, that would've been a very awkward flight home.
Fast forward to their wedding day at Yandina Station, and it was obvious that all those years of adventures had brought them exactly where they were meant to be.

A little about the celebration
Maddy and Chris' wedding at Yandina Station was the true definition of fun, laughter and happiness.
From the moment the ceremony began, there was an incredible sense of excitement in the air. Their celebrant Jarrad had everyone involved, even asking the guests to officially give their blessing before the ceremony could continue.
Thankfully, everyone agreed.
The ceremony itself was heartfelt, but never took itself too seriously. There were plenty of laughs, a few emotional moments and some brilliant stories from nearly a decade together.
There was also some important sporting history to address.
Chris apparently beat Maddy by 30 seconds at their Dorney Lake Half Marathon.
And apparently, Maddy has heard about this approximately every week since.
So naturally, it had to make the wedding ceremony.
Their vows were another highlight of the day.
Maddy spoke about Chris being her best friend, favourite running buddy and travel companion, while Chris spoke about the life they've created together and the simple everyday moments that mean the most.
There were promises to support each other's dreams, keep exploring, keep running, keep laughing and, perhaps most importantly, to keep letting Maddy win at cards.
Although Chris did make it very clear that he still intends to run faster than her.
It was emotional, personal and completely them.
And then came the moment everyone had been waiting for.
"You may kiss."
After nearly 10 years together, they were officially husband and wife.

Your wedding was everything it should be.
Fun. Emotional. Relaxed. Full of laughter.
But most importantly, it felt completely you.
We hope whenever you watch your wedding film years from now, you'll be taken straight back to this day. Back to the people surrounding you, the laughs, the nerves, the tears, the ridiculous stories and that feeling of knowing you were exactly where you were supposed to be.
