Their Love Story
Some love stories begin with fireworks. Maddi and Jimmy's started with a dating app... and Jimmy wearing fake tan.
Well, technically Jimmy insists they first crossed paths at an open home before Maddi bought the house. Maddi has absolutely no memory of this encounter, so we'll stick with the version they both agree on. Hinge in 2022.
By this stage, Maddi was almost ready to delete the app after one too many disappointing dates. Then Jimmy appeared. Funny, ambitious, genuine, and able to hold an actual conversation. Not a bad start.
Their first date at Manly Boathouse was unforgettable... although perhaps not for the reasons Jimmy had hoped.
Determined to impress, he confidently ordered the most expensive item on the menu, a whole coral trout. The only problem? It needed to be completely deboned. So while trying to maintain eye contact and look smooth, Jimmy spent the evening discreetly spitting fish bones into napkins.
Romantic? Questionable.
Memorable? Absolutely.
Thankfully Maddi was far more interested in the man sitting across from her than his choice of seafood. Cocktails followed, then gelato, then a kiss in the car park. It was one of those first dates that simply never ended.
Within weeks they were holidaying together in Noosa, before moving into Maddi's newly purchased 1970s renovation project only a few months later. House renovations, countless cocktail nights, adventures to Noosa, two beautiful dogs, Maisie and Delilah, and an incredible life together quickly followed.
When Jimmy proposed, things were almost perfectly planned... almost.
After secretly collecting the ring, convincing Maddi she had mysteriously "won" a manicure that required neutral nail polish, and organising a romantic proposal back at Manly, everything seemed under control.
Until they arrived at dinner afterwards.
Jimmy had booked the wrong Saturday.
So instead of champagne and fine dining, these two celebrated their engagement at Hungry Jack's.
Honestly? It somehow suits them perfectly.

And once the formalities were over, it quickly became one incredible celebration surrounded by the people who matter most.
