Gold Coast Farm House Wedding
The Message That Changed Everything
Nick & Madeline
Their Love Story
Some couples meet by complete chance. Nick and Madeline? They had a little help from family.
Although their families had crossed paths years earlier (complete with a couple of childhood Scout stories and zero romance), it wasn't until many years later that fate, and Nick's Uncle Stephen, decided to step in.
Out of nowhere, Nick received a message from his uncle with a photo of Madeline and one simple question:
"What do you think of this girl?"
Nick's answer?
"She's absolutely gorgeous."
That was all Uncle Stephen needed.
Meanwhile, Madeline did what most of us would probably do... a little Facebook investigation. After finding Nick online, she sent what would become the first message of their love story:
"I'm sorry about your uncle."
What started as one apology quickly turned into long conversations. Not just the usual "How was your day?" texts either. These were proper essay length messages where they discovered shared values, family dreams and a connection that felt effortless.
After a month of talking, Madeline flew from Victoria to the Gold Coast to finally meet Nick in person. Despite hiding behind a pole at the airport while building up the courage to say hello, the weekend couldn't have gone better.
Nick had planned everything. A picnic at Mount Tamborine with wine and cheese, long drives, Movie World, Noosa and plenty of opportunities to simply spend time together.
Before long, long distance became permanent. Madeline packed up her life and moved to the Gold Coast, where together they built a beautiful home, travelled the world and welcomed Honey and Walter into the family.
Then came Lake Como.
Nick had secretly spent weeks creating a hand drawn cartoon book that told the story of their relationship... from that first Facebook message to buying their home together. The final page showed the two of them on a boat with one very important question waiting.
Despite accidentally ripping his jeans from top to bottom while rushing to the boat (not exactly the romantic detail he'd planned), Nick asked the question anyway.
Thankfully, Madeline was far more interested in saying "yes" than worrying about the hole in his pants.
A Quote from the Vows
Although Nick and Madeline chose to exchange their personal vows privately later in the day, they shared these beautiful promises during their ceremony.
"I promise to love you, respect you, support you and laugh with you through the calm and the chaos, the wins and the challenges. I give you my love and my promise to stand by you always and forever." - Nick
Sometimes the simplest promises are the most powerful. Nick's words reflected exactly who they are... a couple who simply chooses each other every single day.
"I promise to love you, respect you, support you and laugh with you through every season of life. I give you my love and my promise to stand by you always and forever." - Madeline
Rather than saving their deepest words for a crowd, Nick and Madeline chose to keep their personal vows just between the two of them... a beautiful reminder that some moments are even more meaningful when they're shared in private.

A little about the celebration
Nick and Madeline's wedding at Gold Coast Farm House was the perfect reflection of who they are.
Relaxed, genuine and filled with the people who matter most.
From the laughs about Nick talking underwater, Madeline hiding behind a pole at the airport, and Uncle Stephen accidentally becoming the world's greatest matchmaker, the ceremony was full of personality from beginning to end.
Set beneath the stunning tree that has become iconic at Gold Coast Farm House, there was a calmness to the entire day. Nothing felt rushed. Nothing felt forced. Just two best friends celebrating everything they've already built together while looking forward to everything still to come.
And of course, Honey and Walter nearly stole the show more than once.
