Their Love Story
Madison and Christan’s love story is one of fate, footy, and a few missed opportunities that eventually led to something pretty extraordinary. It all kicked off with some early interactions, a friend’s party where Christan was the designated driver, Madison rocked up in a cheerleader outfit, and the sparks started flying. But it wasn’t until a chance encounter at the Heritage Exchange in Townsville, after a few cheeky Tinder matches and missed connections, that their stars really aligned.
Christan boldly announced, “We matched on Tinder,” and proceeded to woo Maddie with a combo of bad pickup lines and an invite back to “watch Friends” ... spoiler alert, no Friends was watched that night. It didn’t take long before they were inseparable. Maddie says she knew Christan was the one when she could hang out with him for hours without her social battery running dry. Christan knew Maddie was the real deal the moment she beat him (over and over) at Smash Bros. and smiled while doing it. That grin? Game over.
Their relationship weathered long-distance stretches thanks to Christan’s career in the army, tearful airport goodbyes with Krispy Kreme's in hand, and countless FaceTimes. Proving that true love is built not just in grand gestures but in the everyday, mundane magic too.
A little about the celebration
The day itself was equal parts elegant and full of belly laughs, with Maleny Manor putting on one of its classic show-stopping displays. With panoramic hinterland views, lush greenery, and all their favourite humans in one place, Maddie and Christan tied the knot surrounded by a vibe that was pure joy.
There were tears during the vows (okay, mostly from Maddie), promises made (including one from Maddie to wash the dishes properly), and a kiss to seal a love story that’s built on forehead kisses, dumb jokes, and an adorable fur baby named Koda.
The sun dipped low over the hills as the celebration carried on into the night. Good food, flowing drinks, and a dance floor that’ll be talked about for years.
