Maleny Manor Wedding
11 Years, One Fur-Filled Life & a Mount Fuji Proposal
Kyrra-lee & Jackson
Their Love Story
Kyrra-Lee and Jackson’s story started back in high school, before either of them could have known just how much life they would eventually share. Before Kyrra-Lee officially transferred to Maleny High in Grade 10, she visited the school one afternoon with a friend who introduced her to a group of students. Then she spotted Jackson across the crowd, making his mates laugh, and instantly developed a very serious teenage crush. Jackson remembers that afternoon too. He noticed Kyrra-Lee straight away, especially her beautiful eyes and shy but friendly nature. The only problem was that she disappeared again, leaving Jackson waiting for the mysterious new girl to officially arrive at school. Thankfully, she did. What began as a safe friendship soon turned into one date, then many more, and before long there simply wasn't a world where it wasn't Kyrra-Lee and Jackson.
Over the next 11 years, they built a life together filled with adventures, big milestones and plenty of animals. They finished school, bought their first home, built careers they were proud of and travelled to places most people only dream about. Their little family grew too, with their fur babies Ophelia, Oriana, Odette and Olive.
By the end of 2024, they both knew marriage was where their story was heading, so when they travelled through Japan, Kyrra-Lee had a feeling a proposal might be coming. She just didn't know when. Then, towards the end of the trip, they arrived at a beautiful hotel overlooking Mount Fuji. Jackson had come down with the flu, so their plans became a little more relaxed, with amazing dinners, a private onsen and plenty of time taking in the winter views.
One evening, as they stood together on their balcony watching the sunset over Mount Fuji, Jackson decided it was time. He got down on one knee and asked the four words Kyrra-Lee had been waiting to hear: “Will you marry me?” She gave him the biggest yes of her life.
After 11 years of growing together, building a home, travelling the world and creating a life they genuinely love, Kyrra-Lee and Jackson finally arrived at their wedding day at Maleny Manor surrounded by their favourite people. Their ceremony was filled with everything that makes them who they are: laughter, adventure, family, animals and a whole lot of love. Jackson described Kyrra-Lee as his best friend, greatest supporter and the person he wants beside him through every chapter still to come, while Kyrra-Lee spoke about how safe, loved and seen Jackson makes her feel. And then came two beautiful sets of vows, wedding bands they had actually made together in Japan, and the moment they officially became Mr and Mrs Clark.
A little about the celebration
The ceremony at Maleny Manor was full of genuine emotion, but it never took itself too seriously.
Their celebrant Caitlin Derry welcomed everyone, including the guests who had travelled all the way from the UK, and reminded everyone that they weren't just witnesses to the wedding, but part of the story that had brought Kyrra-Lee and Jackson to this moment.
There were plenty of laughs throughout the ceremony, especially when Jackson's ability to make Kyrra-Lee laugh was brought up, along with her very memorable dance moves and his questionable made-up songs.
But the emotional moments were just as strong.
Kyrra-Lee and Jackson spoke about their families, their shared life and everything they had built over the past 11 years. Their parents and grandparents were recognised for the huge role they had played in their lives, while their wedding party stood beside them as their A-team.
One of the coolest details of the day was their wedding rings. Rather than simply choosing their bands, they had actually made them together during their trip to Japan. Kyrra-Lee even accidentally burnt herself in the process, meaning, according to the celebrant, the gold was now “nice and entwined into her soul.”
Finally, with their rings exchanged and their vows made, they were pronounced husband and wife.
Mr and Mrs Clark.
After 11 years, it was finally official.
why I love this wedding venue for weddings
Maleny Manor is one of those Sunshine Coast Hinterland wedding venues that gives couples a beautiful combination of countryside scenery, elegant gardens and that relaxed Hinterland feeling.
The surrounding Maleny landscape provides an incredible natural backdrop for wedding photography and videography, while the venue itself offers plenty of beautiful spaces for different parts of the day.
For couples planning a Maleny Manor wedding, the location is also a huge part of the appeal. You're surrounded by the rolling green landscapes of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, with plenty of opportunities to step away from the celebrations for quiet couple portraits and those little moments together.
And for a wedding film, that combination of beautiful scenery and genuine emotion is pretty hard to beat. From the ceremony and family moments to the laughs, tears and celebrations with your favourite people, Maleny Manor gives you a beautiful setting for a wedding day that feels completely yours.
a thank you message
Kyrra-Lee and Jackson, thank you so much for letting Blue Vale Films be part of your wedding day.
After 11 years together, there was so much history behind the moment you finally said “I do”. From that first teenage crush at Maleny High to travelling the world, building your home, raising your four fur babies and getting engaged overlooking Mount Fuji, you've already packed an incredible amount into your story.
And the best part is, as Kyrra-Lee said in her vows, this is just the beginning.
We hope your wedding film brings you straight back to this day for years to come. The laughs, the happy tears, your families, your friends, the beautiful setting and, most importantly, the feeling of standing beside your best friend knowing you're going to keep doing life together.
Congratulations again, Mr and Mrs Clark. We absolutely loved being there to capture it all.
