Some love stories begin with a grand gesture. Others start with a surprise setup at the Coolum Beach Hotel, completely orchestrated by friends who clearly saw what destiny had planned long before Denika and Rohan did.
On 7 July 2020, Denika thought she was just grabbing a beer with her cousin Jaleesa. Rohan thought he was catching up with his mate, Red. Little did either of them know, they were walking straight into the start of their forever... and into a setup that would make even Cupid proud.
It took Rohan a little while to warm up (classic quiet confidence), but once their conversation flowed, the jiu-jitsu class he planned to attend didn’t stand a chance. From that moment on, the spark never left.
Opposites in many ways but perfect complements in all the ways that matter, they became each other’s soft landing and safe place.
The bubbly dreamer and the calm protector. The adventurer and the grounding force. The perfectionist and the patient one.
Over time, their story deepened... through coffee walks, beach dips, music-filled evenings, parenthood, and all the beautiful chaos of raising their greatest gift: little Van, their “ball of destruction” who, according to both of them, is the heart of their world.
Their love isn’t loud. It’s steady, certain, and the kind you feel even in the quiet moments. A home they built long before the wedding day arrived.

Palm Creek Estate put on one of those Queensland days that feels too perfect to be real... soft light, warm air and the stillness the celebrant beautifully described as the presence of loved ones watching over.
Denika looked absolutely breathtaking (the celebrant paused just to let everyone appreciate it), and Rohan scrubbed up so well he had tears forming before the ceremony even properly began.
The moment their vows were read, the entire ceremony shifted from beautiful to unforgettable. They spoke with honesty, humour, gratitude, and that unwavering devotion only two people who’ve truly grown together can share.
Their son Van played a starring role in their story... not in the ceremony logistics (thankfully), but in the way he shaped their love. Every guest could feel how deeply parenthood had strengthened their bond.
By the time the celebrant pronounced them husband and wife, the crowd didn’t just clap... they celebrated. And that gorgeous first kiss? More than worthy of its own slow-motion replay in the wedding film.
